We help young people gain the skills they need to shine bright

Scouts are the UK’s biggest mixed youth organisation; we change lives by delivering 4 to 25-year-olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact on their lives and their communities.

Welcome to 1st Davenport Mile-End
Scout Group

1st Davenport was registered in 1908 and had a Royal Blue neckerchief. This was a group which found itself homeless.

1st Mile-End had the Royal Stuart Tartan neckerchief which is still worn by the amalgamated group today. The group lacked members but had a headquarters.

Therefore, in the 1960’s the two groups merged.

The present headquarters is built on the site of a house which was named “The Hollies” and was occupied by the then owner of Robinsons Brewery. The House was destroyed by a bomb during the 2nd World War and so the site became vacant. Thus in 1968 we moved into the new headquarters named “The Hollies”
