St George’s Day parade 2026 – 26th April

Date: 8th Apr 2026 Author: Keith Spragg

Dear parents and guardians,

We’re pleased to let you know that the St George’s Day Parade will be taking place again this year, and 1st Davenport Mile End Scout Group will be proudly taking part, as we parade from Stockport Grammar School, past the Hollies and along to St. George’s Church.

This is an important date in our Scouting calendar and a great opportunity for young people to come together, represent their group, and celebrate what Scouting is all about. Parents, carers, friends and family are very welcome to come along to support the young people marching.

Volunteers needed

The parade organisers are also looking for adult volunteers to help on the day, specifically to assist with keeping side roads clear along the parade route.

If you’re able to help for a short period, your support would be very much appreciated and will help ensure the event runs safely and smoothly.

If you’re happy to volunteer, please make yourself known on the day.

We hope to see many of you there supporting the group.

Kind regards,

1st Davenport Mile End Scout Group
