Ready for 26-27? Let’s Go!

To all the returning Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers of 1st Davenport Mile End – WELCOME BACK!

We’re underway starting Monday (7th September) with Cubs, and all sections are underway this week, too.

We’d officially like to welcome back our returning Scout Team Leader (the person who arranges all the events and helps lead the team) Andy Gough. Andy brings with him over 25 years of Scouting Experience and has been closely tied in with the group for most of his lifetime, and we collectively helped to celebrate this last year, along with his Dad – Chris Gough, our Group Chairman – who was collecting his own 40 years service award.

We also want to thank the outgoing Scout Team Leader, Ste Mellor, for his years of service. He steps down leaving a vibrant and well organised Scout section, although he has indicated that he won’t be going too far, and will still assist on some of the events.

To all Parents of the Young People involved in all our levels of Scouting – please consider if you can help by offering your time to us in any capacity you can. We are desperately short of volunteers and while we’re still an effective Scout Group, it gets harder to run the events and section evenings every ongoing month, as fewer people are willing to give up their time to help young people of all ages.
